Hey There World- 

I don’t normally care about wedding etiquette but I seem to have a lot of internal debate about this. Our wedding is happening 3000 miles away from where we live and we both have really large families, limiting our guest list to only family and close friends. We’re throwing an engagement party in our home town and would like to invite all of our friends and co-workers but not ask them to come to our wedding. 

Is this really tacky? Is there a way to word this so people know not to expect an invite?
